Tips of the day - TOP10 to increase Jolla phone's usability time

  • Keep your display on low brigthness (most important)
  • Use WLAN instead of mobile internet
  • When outside WLAN coverage, select as slow mobile connection as you need. 2G saves power.
  • Check from the Settings > Accounts that your SoMe accounts (Facebook, Twitter) doesn't sync too often
  • Check that your email accounts doesn't sync too often
  • Kill Android support when you don't need it - the most easiest way to do it is installing KillDroid app from Jolla Store
  • It's better to recharge early than late - this keeps the battery health good
  • When listening to music, favor locally saved media instead of internet media
  • Use headphones instead of loudspeaker
  • Close the apps you don't use soon, leave those you do to the background.
Also, reboot your phone if the battery feels warm - this is the easiest way to end processes left running by some Android applications. You can monitor Jolla's power consumption with Crest app, also available at Jolla Store

Make it yours!

  1. You are saying that Wireless uses less energy than 2G? In N900 it was real when specifically using internet, but not in standby with just some IM software connected.

    1. I am, and It's also very slow to sync over 2G (keeps processes up longer > more consuption via that too). I suppose 2G would be better in very few user cases (only few contacts/events/IM to sync)

    2. I only use Mitakuuluu and Telegram when I am not near a computer (most of the day I am). I don't sync mail because I get a lot (and it will be disturbing) and I check it several times a day on computers. I don't sync any social network. Facebook and Twitter infoxicates me and I use G+ on computers.

  2. Calarification: Mitakuuluu always, Telegram only when away computers.
