An interview based story on how a Dutch mobile phone Fairphone 2 gets a Finnish operating system Sailfish OS via great community involvement. Two communities wanted this to succeed. Two companies wanted that too. And it did. Jolla and Fairphone shares their comments below as well, both of them supporting this unofficial project.

Jolla has released their next Sailfish OS system update to the users signed into the Early Access program. The Early Access group is testing the release before it's shared for everybody.

Intex launches Sailfish OS smartphone at MWC16

Intex Aqua Fish launch confirmed

Announced first time on July 2015 at MWC15 Shanghai, to be introduced on February 2016 at MWC16 Barcelona, Spain, annd to be launched to the markets in India later at spring. Intex Aqua Fish is a new smartphone model by Intex (India) running Sailfish OS mobile operating system by Jolla (Finland).

Sailors at Jolla to get back on board

Lay-offs of 70 employees at Jolla have all been canceled, and Jolla is currently recruiting back their key resources. The aim is to continue with about half of the amount of Sailors compared to the situation before the lay-offs.

News update: Debts on hold at Jolla

Debt restructuring and Sailfish OS 2.0.1 update 

As part of Jolla's debt restructuring process, The Court in Finland has set Jolla's debts to temporary hold until the starting of the actual process is decided. In the meanwhile, Jolla is looking forward for financial round for December, and preparing the next system update for their Sailfish OS mobile operating system. Juhani Lassila, Head of Communications at Jolla, seems positive on financing.
